19.07.2010    The calm after the festival

Once again a year has passed and Kaltenbach Open Air 2010 took place, the calm is restored and all cleanup efforts done. Again, we´d like to thank all people who helped and supported us in any way, first of all the bands, our crew, the press and as well all visitors. Photos will be added to our sites during the next few days, for requests and feedback to KOA 2010 feel free to use our forms in the “Contact” section.

12.07.2010    The last update before the festival

The countdown is on, preparations are going fine, only a few days remain to Kaltenbach Open Air 2010! The weather forecast predicts sunny temperatures, the camping site opens on Thursday at 9:00, an interview featured in the current issue of Legacy Magazine can be read here. At the festival a folder with all necessary infos will be available, details can also be found in the "Info" category. The mountains and nature are calling, see you at Kaltenbach Open Air 2010!

22.06.2010    Presale / parking situation

Nearly three weeks until the festival starts, at this point we want to remind you of the limited ticket amount. Our online-shop will close on the 5th of July, other presale offices provide tickets until the 15th of July. For spontaneous visitors we offer a small quota of tickets at the festival office. In 2010 there will be a new parking situation due to magisterial conditions. We are forced to rearrange the position of the parking space for all visitors to the lift area in the valley station of Spital am Semmering. We ask for your understanding, as direct drive access is not possible due to security reasons and limited amount of space. To grant as much comfort as possible, we established a shuttle transport service, which will carry you to the camping site and back. There is also the possibility to fresh up your drinks- and food-supplies at the “Nah & Frisch” supermarket in the center of Spital am Semmering, where the busses will stop over. Further details are available in the festival orders at “Info”. Bloodred Horizon Records offer a KOA special, a coupon for a free cd is added all orders until the 10th of July 2010. This coupon can only be converted at the merchandise stand at KOA 2010. www.extreme-music-mailorder.com

The preparations to KOA are going fine, by this time we want to remind you of the limited amount of tickets (1.700 festival passes and 300 one-day-tickets), which can be bought at our online shop and various presale offices. Further on the entrance on Thursday is free! Additionally an interview at Metalblaze.at and some preliminary reports at DiePresse.com and Britof.net are online!

24.04.2010    Metalchamp winner confirmed!

As addition to the billing we welcome Devastating Enemy, who won yesterday´s Metalchamp finals. The billing is now complete, but there are also other news: First interviews are online at Moremetal.org and Rottinghill.at, currently only in German!

02.04.2010    Azahel´s Fortress replace Asmodeus

Asmodeus had to cancel their show, and will be replaced by Azahel´s Fortress from Upper Austria.

19.02.2010    Billing completed / running order online

One of the final additions to the billing are INFINITY from the Netherlands, who own a record deal with Bloodred Horizon Records and will unleash a black metal storm! The last addition will be the winner of the Metalchamp contest, and announced after the final round on the 23rd of April at Szene Vienna. Further on new presale offices are online, and you can view the running order, available in the sections "Billing" and "Infos".

11.02.2010    Six new band confirmations!

It´s time to present some news, this update contains a bunch of thrash bands! Confirmed are the thrash-veterans HOLY MOSES and the high-flyers SUICIDAL ANGELS. Let's go ahead with some new band confirmations, we are happy to announce that the swedish Black Metal division DARK FUNERAL will conquer our metal mountain in 2010! Of course we also got some fresh Death Metal supplies, and so ABORTED from Belgium, FLESHLESS from the Czech Republic and SANATORIUM from Slovakia will hit our stage! Additionally KOA 2010 will see performances by the local heroes of HOLLENTHON and the German-American Dark/Doom/Death Fanatics of PARSIFALL! 15.12.2009    KOA 2010 confirmed!

It's done!!! After some long proceedings the 8th edition of Kaltenbach Open Air and the return to our former festival area called "Kaltenbachgraben" has been secured! We are sorry for the delay, but the meetings regarding our return have been harder and more difficult than expected. But now everything is confirmed and we can announce the first infos regarding KOA 2010: Date: 15th until 17th of July 2010 Location: Spital am Semmering (AUT), Kaltenbachgraben We are also happy to present the first confirmed bands for our 8th edition. After their cancellations from 2009 we are really proud to present DYING FETUS and PRIMORDIAL, and by the way, with ASPHYX and HAIL OF BULLETS we also got some KOA-newcomers. Other festival highlights will be the German Pagan Metal acts RIGER and OBSCURITY. More details and band confirmations will be published very soon, stay tuned!!! We also want to point out, that the edition in 2010 will be strictly limited to 1.700 festival passes and 300 one-day tickets per day, so make sure you get your ticket right in time!
